Personal Statement
My parents, friends, and especially my uncle who passed away when I was only six years old have influenced me. My uncle would play catch with me whenever we would visit him. He gave me my first glove, which was the one he used when he played. I play for my uncle and to make my parents proud.
I started playing baseball when I was three. I also participated in football, basketball, tennis, and track (cross country), but baseball has always been where my passion lies. I've learned that I don't like losing, that I'm extremely competitive and that I will always give 100% effort. My academic goal in high school is to maintain a high GPA and to study Biology at a nationally recognized institution.
I've had to overcome being shorter than most players. I'm usually one of the smallest guys on the field, but I have trained countless hours at the batting cages and inside the weight room. I'm a proven middle infielder with good range, and I have excellent bat speed and surprising power for my size. I hit my first home run this past summer. I usually have one of the highest batting averages. I’ve always been ahead of the curve knowing situational baseball, and I’ve earned my coaches trust throughout the years.
