Personal Statement
In terms of collegiate goals, athletically, I want to continue to grow and develop as an athlete while contributing and becoming an integral part of a successful D1 baseball team. Also I want to earn a degree from a reputable school in Digital Media or Sports Physical Therapy. Ultimately, after graduation, I would like to continue to develop and play baseball professionally.
Personally, I am very coachable, and am a hard worker. I believe in arriving early, working hard and staying late. This summer I am continuing to work on my mechanics and using more of my lower body to improve velocity. I am fortunate to be able to continue working with Coach Chuck McElroy and am also working to improve overall strength and nutrition. In general, I am a team player, encouraging of others and unselfish. I believe consistent hard work and focus pay off.
In terms of character, like everyone, I do the best I can and always do what is right, while being mindful of others. I ascribe to the idea that character is who you are when no one is watching, so it is upon your honor to represent yourself well in all situations.
Athletically, I am taller than most and use that to my advantage. While pitching, having a longer wingspan and the ability to get out front further is a big plus. Also from a 6'8" vantage the downward angle of a pitch makes it more difficult to hit.
Academically, the value of education has been thoroughly instilled in me by my parents. Athletically or academically, education is important, valuable, and necessary. It is how you move forward and affords you the opportunity to contribute in all aspects of life.
