I began playing baseball when I was 4yrs old. Since that time I have only missed 1 season during a family move where I did not play. My parents have photos of me before I started playing standing at the fence watching my brother and his teammates playing and I always wanted to be out on that field with him. I finally got that opportunity as an 8th grader when my brother was a junior to play on the JV1 team with our homeschool organization. This is a memory I will always cherish. I've always loved baseball. I have learned some valuable life lessons from this game that I will carry forward in my life like hard work pays off even if you don't have the natural skill to do something if you work hard and keep pushing forward you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. It has taught me how to work as a team to achieve your goals and being able to make sacrifices for the betterment of the team even if it means taking the out. I have learned about success and failure, wins and losses and most of all what it takes to succeed by putting in the work.
My personal goal is to play college baseball and beyond. What makes me a good candidate for the team is that I am always working hard, I like to push myself to be better, perform better than the last time I did that exercise, for example, I always try to do better when we run bleachers than the time I did before. I am not afraid to stand up and take the leadership position on my team if I'm needed to or help my teammates out when doing drills and other skill related activities. I always try to do better even if I am younger and/or less skilled, I use this as a motivation to keep working hard and trying to work just as hard as the older kids. I always push my peers to do their best and to not give up and to keep pushing harder and to finish out strong. I work hard in my classes and I make sure my grades are up and I'm ahead of my work. I work as hard in the class as I do on the field and in the weight room that has allowed me to keep a 3.7GPA. Finally, I am always ready to learn something new or a new way of doing something. I am always reading about technique or studying video of technique and playing styles.
