My name is Brody Simons, I attend Samuel Clemens High school, located in Schertz, TX and will graduate in 2022. Currently, at the age of 14, I am 6’3, 210, with a 60 yard dash of 7.34. I am currently in all Pre-AP classes, and in the health science endorsement at my school. My desired major is Sports Medicine, and I will also graduate with a Billing and Coding, and a Radiology certification.
Baseball has been a huge part of my life, along with other sports like, soccer, basketball, and football. However, I have a connection with baseball that makes me strive to be the absolute best. Throughout the years, baseball has given me an abundance of great qualities that I feel would be an outstanding asset for your team.
I started playing travel ball for a local select team at the age of 8, while still participating in other sports. As soon as I started playing baseball I could tell it put me on a higher athletic level than other sports. While playing with select teams, I traveled all over Texas and have also played in some out of state Tournaments. During my 8th grade year, I got the chance to try out for Team Texas and was able to represent the state of Texas for my age group of 14. We had a series of 4 tryouts of about 200 kids in which I made it through all of them and was invited to play with Team Texas at the Desert Fall Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada. I ended up leading my team in hits for the tournament, and even though we didn’t win, it was a great experience and made me better as a player and a person. During the summer of 2018, I was invited to play on a select team that was put together by Marucci Elite that competed at the Marucci World Series at L.S.U. I had the opportunity to pitch during this tournament and I pitched a shutout.
While playing baseball, I have acquired many qualities I would love to bring to any society, school, or team. I am a team player and get along very well with teammates and coaches. I love to have fun with what I am doing and I always want to make the best out of any experience, but I also know the time to be serious about my work. I am a leader and I try to be a positive role model to the other players. I lead by example and I work to lift my teammates up when they are not at their best.
I come from a family where both of my parents are teachers so my education is my number one priority. I am looking for a well-rounded college experience that consist of a great education as well as a solid baseball program that will allow me to follow my lifelong goal of playing baseball at the college level. I am open to attending a college in any state, location, or division. My main goal is to attend a college that will allow me to maintain my desired major of sports medicine, while playing baseball at the collegiate level.
