Personal Statement
My name is Jacob Weldon. I was born in a small town called Beaumont, Texas. My dad has been my biggest fan and my biggest critic in my life. It first started for me when I walked on a baseball field at six years old. After that game I knew I loved it and that my dream was to play in the MLB. I started to tell myself and picture in my mind what I wanted to do during the game when I was young to keep my mental side up, because being mentally strong is good for baseball but also great to have in life too. As I kept playing I stuck to it and I just found more love for the game no matter what.
I like to think of myself as a kind and respectful young gentleman. I am pretty smart and I can usually find a way to bring a smile and laugh to someone. In school, I have always kept my grades up because school is very important to become successful in life. I am a great student in school. I don't get into trouble at all and my teachers seem to enjoy having me as their student.
I am currently 16 years old and I'm a junior at Hardin Jefferson Highschool in Sour Lake Texas. I play baseball and football in school because I like to keep my body in good condition year round and I love to be competitive. My current GPA in school is a 3.8. My main goal in life is to receive a college baseball scholarship and to get a college education. I may have the same dream as a lot of other kids but I plan to work at it and to live my dream of getting a great education and to play professional baseball.
