Gavin Schmidt '21 Recruiting Profile

I have attended the College World Series with my family each year since I was 10 years old and after my first trip to Omaha I became dedicated to playing baseball in college.  On the field, I thrive in pressure situations against top competition and am eager to change a games momentum defensively or offensively with my speed.   I am a reliable contact / leadoff hitter with a high OBP% that enjoys turning walks or singles into triples on the bases while forcing more fastballs for the hitters behind me so they see more pitches they can drive.

I believe in supporting my teammates, giving maximum effort on every play, having a positive attitude at all times while having fun with my teammates and coaches.  Off the field, I am a dedicated straight A student who works hard in the classroom 4.0 GPA (4.3 scale) and am eager to attend a top academic program where I can be a highly productive student athlete and role model to my peers.
