Personal Statement
My name is Ethan Bourg. I am a 2022 Shortstop/Right Handed Pitcher/ Utility player. I have enjoyed playing the great game of baseball since I was four years old and I have never taken it for granted. I am very serious about the game and take great pride in my individual success. I take the same amount of pride away from my academics. My steady GPA and great education is another thing I pride myself on. I would like to major in journalism and later become a sports journalist.
I workout at Dynamic Sports Training in Tomball, Texas. While working out here, I have learned about the sacrifices an athlete has to make to get the results they want on the field. I have taken this to heart when it comes to my free time, my meals, and the time I spend working out.
My biggest influences are my parents who work so hard to maintain a steady lifestyle. My Mom and Dad give up so much for me to play the great game of baseball and it truly pushes me to work harder and make them proud.
Playing baseball I have learned a lot about having a positive mindset in everything I do. This is a game of failure and you are not always going to succeed, but if you can have a positive mindset and enjoy every little thing in baseball, you can carry that into real life and continue to grow in your everyday life.
On the field, I will do everything it takes to be a great teammate and lead the team. I like to be vocal and play with nonstop hustle and energy. I like to play every game like it is my last and give it my all. As I said, I am a utility player and will play any position for the team. I can play all nine positions at a high level and can hit anywhere in the lineup.
