My main goals for my education are first and foremost to make it to a good college where I can get a degree that will set me up for life in a career I will enjoy and in which I will excel. Ultimately, I am working hard to get a full-ride scholarship with a combination of academics and athletics. I am not going to be an athlete who any coach will have to worry about my being academically eligible at any point in my college career.
I am a good candidate for your team because I can play pretty much any position on the field, although I specialize in pitching and shortstop. I can also play catcher and outfield. Also, I am always trying to stay as coachable as possible so that if needed I can play anywhere on the field and adjust to reach my highest ability wherever I am put.
I am a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints so on and off the field, I try to be the best example of good character I can possibly be. Everybody can have their bad days on the mound, but throwing a fit and getting angry doesn't do anything but hurt one's performance. Whenever I make mistakes, I try to accept those errors and try to get better from them by focusing on better skill execution every time on the field or at bat.
In terms of athletics, I played baseball, basketball, and football in 9th and 10th grade and football and baseball this 11th grade. This keeps me fit and healthy all year. People say that multiple sport athletes are usually better athletes. Well, I completely agree. When playing all those sports, I have to constantly be working hard, which just makes my work ethic better and makes me a better all-around athlete.
In terms of academics, I have maintained a 4.0 since the sixth grade. The first year that I started to get letter grades I set a goal to get straight A's through middle, intermediate, and high school and so far I have met that goal. I am currently enrolled in Honors Physics, Honors Math, and Honors Language Arts which are a challenge. But as I associate with the type of people that are in these honors classes, I realize that people who set high expectations for themselves usually have better success in life. You can never be satisfied, but always hungry to get smarter and better.
