As well as reaching the highest level of baseball, I would also like to receive the best education possible.

While working hard in the classroom, I will also be working equally as hard on and off the field making sure I am the ball player and person I have the potential of being.

Notes: Day One Notebook – 2017 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Scouts gathered to review day one top performers. Showing one of the best curveballs of the day, Shawn Triplett (Northwest Team) struck out 8 using that curve as an out-pitch for many of them.

Notes: Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Shawn is an athletic two way player (RHP/3B) who graduates in 2018. On the mound, Shawn has a compact motion and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. He gathers over the rubber and separates on time with clean arm action. He extends through and finishes with a controlled landing. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball ranging from 81-85mph with good sinking action. His breaking ball ranges form 61-64mph with an 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 68-70mph with good sink as he throws with good fastball arm action. Shawn can improve his pitching skills by shortening his stride and by staying more direct to his target. In the field, Shawn picks the ball well at 3B. His feet are active and he gains ground on the ball. He squares up well and presents his hands out front to field the ball. He has a clean exchange to throw with a loose arm action from a 3/4 arm slot. He gains momentum to his target on his throws which allows them to be accurate and carry well. Shawn can improve defensively by setting his feet better on his throws and working on fielding balls to his back hand side. At the plate, Shawn has a middle, away approach with a tall setup. He has good balance in the box and a clean, smooth load. He shows great feel for the barrel as he squares up the ball through contact. Shawn can improve as a hitter by staying back on the ball longer and letting it travel deeper into the zone. Overall, Shawn is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level both in the field and on the mound.

Currently, he projects slightly better at 3B but has an upside on the mound. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around and plays through balls with his body. He moves well laterally and presents soft /sure hands well out front. Hands / feet work well together and he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life, carry, and accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and displaying gap to gap power as he shows plus barrel accuracy. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 2 2B and sac fly. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-82 mph with arm side run and late life. Off speed pitches show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. uting Report Tool Grade Scale Class Rating Scale 5 CLASS RATING RHP/3B POSITION PROJECTION 06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Shawn continues to show a promising future on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Fastball showed range of 82-84 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. At 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick (90 exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path, making hard contact.

Day One Notebook – 2017 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament January 15 Factory Athletics 2017 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament, On Saturday evening, our scouts gathered to review day one top performers and to prepare for day two. Day one saw twelve teams (teams 1-12) take BP, run the 60 yard dash and go through their defensive workout along with a single game, while the other twelve teams (teams 13-24) played a double header — those teams will workout on Sunday. Here are notes on performances from fifteen pitchers and fifteen players among the many that caught our attention on day one. 05/28/2016 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Shawn continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally and displays range to both sides. Athletic abilities are shown off on the slow roller play. At the plate, hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off of the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range in the lower 80s with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp / late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.
