Personal Statement
My name is Micah Aiden Pruyn Goldstein. I'm a Class of 2019 rising senior at West High School's International Baccalaureate Diploma program in Salt Lake City. When my days of playing come to a close, I hope to rise in the ranks of sports broadcasting, journalism and analysis. My best baseball is ahead of me. I am a strong student of the game. I stick to a daily rigorous physical training regimen year round. I am a fierce competitor, a hard worker, a trusted teammate, and I believe I will further develop into a respected collegiate student athlete and leader. I bring a lot to the table. I play all outfield positions, am a left-handed pitcher and bat left. Highlights from this past season included a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, starting the turn of two double-plays from the outfield, my team's only walk-off hit, and first in quality at-bats.
I realize I am an undersized. I don't let it get in my way. It's helped me recognize what's valuable is earned not given. I fully intend to join the list of players in every sport that have heard they 'can't do it,' 'a good big man beats a little good man,' etc. I train the right way. I eat right. No one out-works me, and I've got smarts and intangibles I believe other players don't.
I hope to have the opportunity to speak with you and will appreciate any information regarding possibilities within your program. You are welcome to contact me via cell (801-234-9687) or email ([email protected]).
Thank you very much for your time and consideration Coach.
Sincerely, Micah
