Personal Statement
I’m Michael Mansfield Allessio, i am a shortstop and pitcher for Pittsfield High School JV team and play for Pittsfield BabeRuth club team. I am a very consistent hitter, great tactics and foot work in the field, and hit my spots pitching. It’s great meeting new teammates and coaches to learn from, and some have which became my best friends. Baseball is a big part of my life and I want to be able to play in college. This is the first time I have really looked into a higher level and it seems like a reachable goal for me. I work hard in both academics and sports to become the best student-athlete I can be, taking three honors classes maintaining an B and A avgerages. I am very competitive in both of my sports, skiing and baseball. I am a alpine racer for my high school and the Tri-state alpine ski team, with my home mountain at Berkshire East Ski Resort. My skiing career has been a successful one and puts me in great shape for baseball season both physically and mentally. I also play baseball for Pittsfield High School JV team, Babe Ruth u15 team, and Babe Ruth all-star team and am extremely close with the majority of my teammates. I’ve been playing baseball since I was 7 years old with some of the same teammates on my team today. Whenever I looked back in my childhood, some of my best memories were from sports... Traveling to tournaments with great friends, playing in important, competitive games and coming out with a win, and just the joy in general of playing. Sports and baseball are what I enjoy the most in life and want to take them with me through college. (I am also moving to Colchester, Vermont next year and won’t be playing for any Pittsfield team after August of 2018.)
