Personal Statement
Baseball was introduced to me by my dad at the age of 6. After feeling my way through tee-ball and coach pitch I knew I had found something that I had a passion for. I was very fortunate to have been coached throughout my younger years by a former Division 1 catcher ,Andy Ihle. Coach Ihle taught me everything he knew about catching but more importantly he constantly was teaching me how to carry myself not only on the baseball field but off as well. One of Coach Ihles favorite expressions that I carry with me today is "It is ok to lose but it is not ok to like losing". I have applied that in my daily life both on the field and in the classroom where I challenge myself with Honors and AP courses and maintain a GPA over 4.0.
Having practice every day and playing multiple games a week over the last two years has reinforced my desire to continue to play this great game at the next level. I believe I not only have the talent to play at the collegiate level but also the work ethic and leadership skills to make an impact at the college level. My experience in 3 different sports has given me a wide range of skills which have prepared me to be the best I can be and to share those skills and lessons with all those around me.
