Personal Statement
Hello I am Jackson Arnold. I’m a 6’1”, 170 lbs outfielder/RHP. I play for Warren County High School and graduate in the year 2020.
As a student I excel in all aspects of school. I love language arts and reading the most. I have a 4.25 GPA and I want to continue to grow my knowledge everyday at the highest level. I have experience in three Spanish classes, and have taken a mythology class to broaden my view on all religions and stories. I work hard in the classroom and fully acknowledge the fact that I am a student first, athlete second. I believe that if you do the right thing in the classroom, community, and at home everything will translate to the field.
As a player, I started on my high schools varsity team as a freshman, that made it to the first round of regional playoffs. I’m excited to keep developing under my coaches and to become the greatest player this game will let me. As a hitter, I am big on contact. I won’t fool around though and swing at balls. I am very disciplined and have a knack for doing whatever it takes to reach first and give my team a chance to score. For my lanky frame, I have lots of pop that come with my swing. I hit a grand slam as a freshman, which has never been done in my schools history. On base I can steal bags and run efficiently and score runs. I led my conference my sophomore year in runs scored.
In the field I use my quick first step and track down ability to hone in baseballs in the gaps and on the lines. My arm is strong and I can get the ball where it needs to be when it needs to be there. I make the smart plays instead of trying to show off.
On the mound, I use my length to locate my pitches, and give them that burst that blows past batters. As of now I have a fastball, circle-change, and a curveball and I hope to expand that so I can become an even greater pitcher. I love to use all of my pitches to fool hitters and keep them off balanced and guessing. As I continue to grow I will harness my length and use it to my advantage to become a threat on the mound.
By no means am I a perfect player, but with my great work ethic and will to become better, I believe I can do something my town hasn’t seen in a long time. I don’t want to just be another somebody, I want people to remember who I am. I’m willing to work day and night to make sure that when they hear my name, they think of a leader who did everything in his power to be great and win. Feel free to contact me by email or phone, I would love to represent a college well, on and off the field.
