Personal Statement
Of course when players answer to this there answer is going to be, “It’s always been my dream to play baseball professionally.” Quite frankly, its always been a dream for me too. But that’s not really the answer I’d give. Baseball is and has always been my quiet place. When nothing is going on, I go and play baseball. Whether that’s just going to the cages or asking my family to throw the ball with me. When I think of baseball, I want to go out into my back yard and go catch some fly balls or go throw with my friends at the field. No matter what is going on in my life, baseball is quite often included. When I was playing in middle school and I was sitting the bench, that’s when I knew that I wanted to get better so I could start in my games. Starting the summer before high school, I started to work out and tend more to baseball. When high school started my school offered a fall baseball program. When I started to actually start in those games, It gave me the best feeling inside. That’s when I knew I wanted to play this game for the rest of my life. After that season ended, spring came around and I was so ready for that season. Then COVID-19 happened, and it canceled the whole season. Throughout the next 2-3 months I did nothing, no working out and no throwing or hitting baseballs. Then school started up again, I remembered that there was fall ball, I had started to get myself back into my normal conditioning. This time I promised myself that this virus was not gonna hold me back. I got back into conditioning and played what was probably my best season. After that I continued to work on my body and get better with my mechanics. As of now, I’m on the Force 16u Baseball Team and doing great. Getting ready for my junior year of high school I’m starting to work harder than I have in my life. I’m setting goals so I can do good in school and in baseball. I want to remain having all A’s this year and I want to start in most if not all our games. I feel that not only am I exceptionally hardworking but I feel that when something needs to be accomplished I’m extremely focused and dedicated. I also feel that my work ethic compared to others is amazing. When there is something wrong with my mechanics I ask coaches or watch videos on what’s wrong and work on it. So of course when I think of my aspirations and collegiate goals, I would say, “It’s always been my dream to play professionally.” But to tally it up, I feel that baseball is truly a unique and challenging game that I have found a true passion to love and play.
