What are my aspirations? Probably a lot like thousands of other ball players around the country. To be a great player in high school, get drafted, and then go on to have a great career in the majors. This dream, I know, however must be put to the side now. I now know that a college education and a chance to better my future must come first before I can attempt to fulfill that dream.
As an avid outdoorsman, I spend any time I can find outside of baseball to go hunting and fishing. This lifestyle has taught me to respect the outdoors and all that comes with it. Thus the reason that I have decided to attempt a career in the Wildlife Biology fields. I plan to major in wildlife biology, or really in any biology field that I can be successful in and pursue the chance to help out the nation’s wildlife. The education to obtain this career can be a long one, taking up lots of time, I however know that I have the ability to chase after this career and be successful in baseball.
I have been a four year starter at Columbia High School in Burbank. I started out as a designated hitter at the end of my freshman year, split time as a catcher as a sophomore, and started catching almost every game last year and plan to do so again this coming season. Our head coach was a former catcher at a high collegiate level, so he has taught me many ways I can better myself for the game of baseball at a higher level, whether that be on or off the field. I am also a career .330 hitter and led the team in average, hits, and RBI’s last season. I can say that my best quality is probably the way I can lead my team whether we be up 10 runs or down, I have the ability to change moral and lead us to victory.
I am currently involved in a senior class leadership group at my high school. We are the ones who make the decisions about anything happening with the senior class. Along with that I have also been involved in many community service activities such as a pop shoot at the half times of the basketball game, and helped out with a baseball camp that my high school team held two years ago, and plan to have again this year.
I still dream of one day being able to stand under those lights of the great stadiums like Fenway or Wrigley, however I know that to be able to fulfill that dream, college baseball is going to be one of the steps that take me there.
Thank you for viewing my profile and I hope to speak with you soon.
