Personal Statement

My name is Jensen Lavering.  I attend Cedar Park Christian HS and I will graduate in 2020.  During my sophomore year, I was a starting infielder on the varsity team.

Baseball has become a major part of my young life, and throughout the years, it has given me many outstanding qualities that would make me a strong asset for your team. Having played baseball since I could walk, it has grown to be a major part of who I am.

Starting in middle school and continuing into high school I train and play with my club team during the winter and summer, play for the high school team during the spring, and play in an instructional fall program and travel team during the fall.  To supplement team training I work out at Rijo Athletics year around.

The best aspects of my game are my speed and my defense.  I have soft hands and great reflexes.  I am highly coachable and am willing to try new things to improve my game and move my game to the next level.  I have the willingness to work hard and adapt my game based upon recommendations from the coaches and I have an excellent work ethic which will help any team at the next level of play.  I love the game of baseball and my passion plays out on the field. I continue to work on improving my offensive play.

I feel I would bring good character, along with tough mental and moral qualities to your team. I have a good-natured personality, and get along very well with coaches and team mates. I have a positive attitude and I can follow and take direction. These qualities have been attained by my many years of playing baseball.

I am looking forward to finding a school that will allow me to have a well-rounded college experience consisting of a great education and to follow my lifelong dream of playing baseball at the college level.

  • Ryan Beliel, President of Player Development, Rippers Baseball Club Athletic ability: 10/10 Leadership: 9/10 Team player: 10/10 Easy to work with: 10/10 Ability: "Jensen is an extremely hardworking individual and one of the leaders on our team, and why we have coached him for years. He is extremely fast, and a big focus for us this year was getting him to take good reads and be able to take advantage of his speed. His hands are extremely smooth and soft but at the plate he has very quick hands that parallel his speed." Personality: "If Jensen had one weakness its his communication as a leader, however he is one of the leaders on our team not but what he says but by how he works. The bigger the time or the opportunity the bigger he comes up for his team. He continually strives to be challenged and seems to make the people around him better. "

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
