I have been playing baseball since I was five years old. Early on I loved every sport that was in season and I played competitive basketball and soccer as well as baseball. It wasn’t until my team qualified for the Cal Ripken World Series that I knew baseball was my first love. There was something about the excitement of flying across the country, from Washington State to Florida to play and competing against teams from all across the United States. Of course getting to pitch and hitting a homerun in the World Series didn’t hurt.
I’ve always worked hard on the field and believe in striving to be the best I can be. I know that every practice I can get a little bit better and I can take something away from every game, whether it be a win or loss. I’ve learned more from the things I’ve attempted but made mistakes than the things I’ve gotten right the first time. The college that recruits me will find I am a hard worker that cares about improvement and contributing to the team any way I can.
In the classroom, I strive to put forth my best, too. I always want to maintain a high GPA. It is my desire to be a well-rounded student-athlete, and I always make sure the student part comes first. I realize that eventually my athletic career will come to an end, but my education will last me a lifetime. I constantly challenge myself in the classroom by taking classes like Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra II/Trig, and AP World History.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself to achieve at high levels both in the classroom and on the field. I am open to collegiate options and I eventually want to attend the college that is the right fit for me. I’m not completely sure what I want to do after completing college. Right now I am a member of DECA and am taking advanced sports marketing, so my career might have something to do with athletics.
I appreciate the time and energy that coaches put into their players and their programs. I want my future coach to know they will get someone who is dedicated and cares about the commitment that his coach makes in bringing out the best in him as a player and person.
