Personal Statement
When I was an 11 year old, I had a coach tell me I was too undersized and that I didn’t have what it takes. I was hurt, I vividly remember it being the worst thing that I could ever hear come from someone especially since I went out every day trying to prove myself. From that day on, I decided I was going to be the hardest working guy on the team. I spent the next offseason being the first kid at practice and games and being the last to leave for I wanted to make a good impression on my new coach. That offseason taught me how to truly become a competitor and a leader, I took every practice as if it was the last inning of a championship game.
Now, looking back I believe that was truly one of the best things that could’ve happened to me. I went from being an undersized little kid to being a 4 year letterman and 3 year starter on my varsity baseball team. I also became an anchor on a team that placed 2nd in state and I was the only underclassman to start and make an All League team. I learned handwork and determination and this has translated into my everyday life as I take every day as a new opportunity to get ahead of others.
Learning how to outwork others is something that didn’t come easy to me, I had to learn how to have a mentality of wanting to win at everything. This trait is valuable to me in real life because I know how to put in the work when it matters and when no one else wants to. I am determined to win at life and I strive to succeed at everything that comes my way. I know what it takes to succeed and am willing to do anything in order to find a way.
The traits that define me most are competitive, hardworking and grit because I have what it takes inside me to be a successful person. Past experiences in my life have helped define how I am today and nowadays I love when people tell me I cannot do something because it makes me want to work harder to achieve my goal. When people doubt, I make it my goal to prove them wrong and achieve what no one believed that I could do
