Personal Statement

My name is Jake Hall; Baseball came naturally to me and as I grew older I realized the blessings I was given to play the game.  Along with the natural gift of athleticism, I work extremely hard, I’m dedicated to all that I do, and I have a passion for the game of baseball that I feel is required to play at the collegiate level. Leadership is another gift that I have been blessed with on the field, in the classroom, and amongst my friends. Being a leader comes with a lot of responsibility that I hold in the highest regard. I have a great mom and dad that have raised me to respect authority. I believe these character qualities are what college coaches will appreciate in a student-athlete.
As I continue through the recruiting process, I realize how big of a commitment it is to have aspirations to play at the collegiate level. I continue to prepare myself both physically and mentally to be successful in the game of baseball. My level of intensity and focus that I bring to every practice is what sets me apart from most others. I take all my training very serious. My competitive nature has always forced me to work as hard as I possibly can and have no limitations to what it takes to get the job done.
When looking for a college to play baseball for, I want a college that I can truly call my home. To me, it’s necessary to surround myself with players and coaches that help me become a better and more respectable person.  Most importantly, I desire a college that will prepare me academically for life after school. I am undecided on my major at this time, but my interests include; the Military, Sports Management and possibly Medicine or Engineering.

Sneaky strong hitter for size, occasional pop. Line drive spray approach, gap to gap guy, 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. • *Notes from MLB Cross Checker - (125+ Prospects Present) Jake Hall was a strong performer, showing a strong, smooth; quick release with arm speed. The arm was accurate but there was some struggle with the over the top arm angle. His hit tool needs minor adjustments. He has quick hands, a strong finish, and made loud contact at times. He needs to create better back and forth weight distribution in the box, and make sure he doesn't hit under the baseball.

  • Silver Sluggers Showcase ID Camp
  • 12/30/13 to 12/30/14
  • Hitting: As fundamentally sound as it gets. Short swing, head down and still, and good balance through the swing. Swing will get even better with additional bat speed from age and physical strength/power. Infield: Great feet and rhythm to the ball. Stays low and makes up ground from field to throw with quick feet. Makes up for lack of velocity with quick, short stroke release. Fields ball out in front and squares up to the ball well. Very efficient with glove action and coordination with feet for a solid release.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
