I completed my sophomore season of collegiate ball at SIU (G-MAC). Although our overall record was disappointing, it was a very young team and a majority of games were lost by very few runs. As the #1 relief pitcher, I maintained a consistent performance on the mound. I aspire to contribute fully for team success with focus on my overall performance. I will enter Fall 2014 semester with 3 semesters completed, having taken off Fall 2013 to secure valuable work experience. I am exiting Spring 2014 semester with a 3.6 GPA and will continue to focus on my education and baseball throughout my college years.
I am proud of my baseball success over the years. As a 2013 Plover Black Sox pitcher, we finished post-season play in the top 32 in the nation, wrapping up our season in Terre Haute, Indiana. Our regular Legion season resulted in Division and Regional Champs, and State runner-up with a tough 2-0 loss. I received Regional pitching award and State All-tournament team. In my 2012 Plover Legion, we won Conference, Regionals, and made it to State play with a 2-2 record.
My high school career was very memorable. Our 2011 season brought us to the sectional final game, which we accomplished with no seniors. In 2012 we were CWC-8 Co-Conference champions for the first time in 20 years and ended the season in the Regionals, losing to the team we bumped out in 2011. My 2011 Jr. Legion play ended with a State win; I was the winning pitcher. The highlights of my high school career include throwing a 5-inning perfect game as a sophomore in the first round of playoffs, hitting back-to-back homers against our primary rival team, scoring 4, and winning the Jr. Legion State title. I played my first college season with St. Cloud Technical Community College.
I am 6'2" and weigh 195#. I throw over the top and use a 3/4 or sidearm when needed. My off-season workout consists of weight training, long toss, mechanics and technique, stretching, and conditioning. I continue to work on my velocity, with a top speed around 88 mph. I tightened up the break on my curve ball,
I am pursuing a degree in Business Management/Finance and I want to fill an athletic role on a baseball team with success as my main goal. It is my dream to play baseball during college and beyond, and to gain an education for my future success. My collegiate athletic goal is to be on a team where I have the opportunity to contribute fully to benefit the team.
