Personal Statement
Just to tell you a little bit about myself. During my junior year, my pitching record was 9-3 with a 1.35 ERA and had a WHIP of .99. I struck out 96 batters in 77 and 2/3 innings. I also have a strong arm when playing short stop and third base. First base is another position that I am strong in. My batting average my junior year was .507 in 22 games. My on base percentage was .598 and I had a .716 slugging percentage. I excelled with a 1.31 OPS this past year. I also led my team to a victory over number one ranked Ithaca (Division 4) as I was the winning pitcher. I have been 1st team all-conference all three years so far in my high school career and hope to continue my career in my years to come. I have been the team MVP all three years of high school so far and last year I was awarded the MVP of the Ridge and Valley Conference. My skill in baseball as a fielder, pitcher, and hitter contribute greatly to our team, but my greatest asset is my determination to play at the best of my ability and to encourage my teammates to do so as well.
As a student, I am a senior at Weston High School in Cazenovia, WI. I currently have a 3.649 GPA. My extracurricular activities include: class treasurer (4 years), forensics (1 year), National Honor Society (3 years),FFA (3 years), football (4 years), basketball (4 years), and baseball (4 years). I have earned a Varsity letter for all three sports since my freshman year. In football, I also earned first team all conference running back and second team defensive end awards. During my freshman and sophomore years I participated in our local 4-H group. I have also logged over 75 hours of community service. I am hoping to participate in extracurricular activities at the college level as well.
