Hi, my name is Eli Burhans I am sophomore at Fort Atkinson High School in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. I am a left handed pitcher for the Varsity/JV team. Some things to know about me? I am a multiple sport athlete who wrestles and plays baseball. My hobbies are fishing, hunting, and fixing cars. Once I get out of high school is to get my engineering degree or to play baseball for the majors. What makes me a good spot in the team line up? Well, I love the sport of baseball. I have been playing this sport since I was in 1st grade and I just loved it. I started my pitching career in 4th grade, winning 3 back to back Fort Youth Baseball Champs and being the best pitcher in the league I played in. Another thing is that I'm a smart kid. A lot a kids that play sports think that grades are not important. Well, I think that grades are important. I carry an average of a 3.5 gpa in school. I pay attention in class and I get my work done on time. Most classes I take are engineering classes because that is a career I will want to take out of high school. I am also a hard working person. I have two jobs that I juggle during school and sport seasons. Also, I work at a farm and at a grocery store. At work, I get the job done and I do it right. I don't do it half as fast; I take my time and do the job. I am also determined. I don't quit on tasks that aren't done. I work through the pain or the struggles and I get it done. Like in baseball, I don't quit when I'm on the mound. I finish the ending because if I quit, I'm letting my team down ,and when I let my team down, then I let the team myself down. Finally and most importantly, I am a leader who is dedicated to his team. On the baseball team and wrestling team, I am a person that the younger kids look up to. I am the one that talks to a person that messed up on a play or the one to cheer on the team. I am the one who brings everyone in and gives them a word to make them better and a stronger teammate. My overall goal is to play baseball into college and to achieve my engineering degree. Thank you for the time to read this.
