Personal Statement
Hello my name is Thomas Fischer, and I am a student-athlete at Hayward High School. I am a right handed starting / relief pitcher for the Hayward High School Varsity and Team USA Amputee Baseball Team. I have a 3.75 GPA while being enrolled in multiple Honors classes. I am a right leg below the knee amputee. I have played for Travel Baseball teams since I was 10 years old for both Hayward Travel and Solon Springs War Eagles competing in tournaments across Wisconsin and Minnesota. In September 2023 I was selected to be on Team USA Disabled Baseball team and flew to Nagoya, Japan for the World Disabled Baseball Tournament. I was the only teenager competing at this prestegious event across five country teams from South Korea, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, Japan and United States. Team USA came in 3rd place out of five teams competing. On the field I am a great vocal leader and teammate. I have been umpiring little league baseball games the past four summers. I am hoping to get accepted into a college that has a degree in Sports Broadcasting.
