Unlike many athletes this platform did not grow up playing baseball my entire life. I started playing baseball when was 11 just to stay in shape, but quickly fell in love with the game and developed a desire to get better each day. Baseball has taught me many values that I now follow in my every day life like dedication, hard work and discipline.
I have played baseball through my hometown youth league, Starters, Great Lakes Lumberjacks, Turn Two and currently my high school team. Every one of these programs has helped become a better, well rounded player. On each of these teams have one year of varsity experience sophomore year as the starting catcher.
I am looking for a school preferably in the Midwest near my hometown. The size of the school does matter to me as I simply want a college to extend my baseball career. Realistically, I am not a D1 athlete but have goals of playing at the division 2 or 3 level. I am also completely open to attending a Christian college as I take my faith seriously. The single most important thing I am looking for in a college is that they have one of my preferred majors; biology or kinesiology.
I work just as hard in the classroom as I do on the field. I have a 3.99 GPA with lots of extra credits and transcribed credits through Chippewa Valley Technical College in Business Management. I push myself in the classroom every day, taking about 2 hours to study every single night. I take pride in my grades and plan on continuing my great grades along with putting full effort into the ACT and SAT coming up soon.
A couple more things that you need to know about me is I am passionate about lifting weights, pushing myself to new limits every single day. I also have a love for football, playing fullback and linebacker at only 5'9" 170 lbs. When I am not doing schoolwork or training, I am probably at work. I have worked at McDonalds for the past 2 and a half years and have worked my way up to a management position.
My current strengths as a baseball player would be my ability to block any ball that comes my way and being able to consistently drive the ball, hard off the bat. I have above average speed for a catcher that can come in handy on the bases as I had nearly 20 stolen bases last season. My weakness as a catcher is my velocity throwing the ball. I feel I serve as a value member to my program and consider myself a leader as I am always setting the example by showing up on time and getting things done. I also try to be a mentor for the younger players to try and build our team as much as possible.
