Personal Statement

I want to thank you for taking time to stop and look at my profile.  I have been playing baseball since I was very little.  Every day I would bug my mom to take me to the park to hit balls or throw practice pitches.  As I have grown and entered high school, I have realized over the last few years just how important continuing to play baseball is to me and how important a college education is.  To be able to combine my love for the game into my college career would truly be a dream come true.

I feel that I would be a good candidate for any team due to my physical size and strength. Both my baseball coach and football coach demanded a lot of time in the weight room and it has paid off these past two years.  I currently can bench 245 lbs. and really enjoy my time in the weight room.  Also, I have shown that I can be a very versatile player.  I have mainly been used as a right handed pitcher and 3rd baseman over the years, but added sometime playing time at 1st base.  I ended up becoming a capable and dependable player at 1st base both on the high school and Junior Legion team.

I think one thing you would find out quickly about my character is that I am a very easy person to coach and love to learn new things about the game.  I take the game seriously, and am always working to improve myself and my team.  I have come to realize over the summer that I really have not put as much effort into my school work as I have into my sports.  While I have a cumulative 3.0 gpa, I know that I can and will do better moving forward.

Again, thank you for taking time out of your busy day to look at my profile.

Respectfully,

Anthony Ollis

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
