Personal Statement

My name is Dylan Callahan and I am currently a 6' 4" 225 pound senior at Sheboygan South High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  I am the starting first baseman for my varsity and Legion baseball team.  My goal is to get a good education while playing college baseball.  I have a great family that supports me in everything I do and they are always there for me.  My parents have always stressed getting a good education, not only in high school but furthering my education after I graduate.  I have always strived to do my best.  I currently have a 3.42 GPA through my winter semester.

I was the leading hitter on my 2015 summer varsity legion team with a .411 average, 37 hits, 13 doubles, 2 home runs, 24 RBI's with a slugging percentage of .622. I was also the leading hitter on my 2015 high school varsity team this season with a .377average, 26 hits, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 28 RBIs. I was selected to the all-conference team as Honorable Mention in the Fox River Classic Conference. Last summer, I was the U17 Sheboygan American Legion hitting MVP and was selected to the Fox River Valley U17 All Star Team. I am a member of the Baseball Factory and I have attended three events in the past two years including the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic in Mesa, Arizona.  Besides playing baseball, I also play varsity football where I was the starting center as a junior. I plan on playing football again this fall for my senior year.

I am very interested in getting my degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science, which would allow me to choose from a variety of different career path opportunities after I graduate.  I am currently looking for a college that can offer me that opportunity to succeed on and off the field. I have developed the strength of character, work ethic and personal commitment to fulfill the challenging tasks of playing college baseball.
