Bobbie Kelsey, the head women’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin, had strong words for her players — and any high school student-athlete who wants to play in college, as 1011 Now reported.
This college coach says there’s only one thing basketball players can do to improve.
If you want to be a better basketball player, there’s only one thing you can do. “You’ve got to get your butt in the gym,” Coach Kelsey says.
“If people think they’re going to get it on the pillowcase, it’s not going to happen. You can’t nap your way to being a great shooter.”
And Coach Kelsey is disappointed college basketball players are distracted on their phones.
“You need to put the phones down, stop FaceTiming, stop tweeting, and get your butt in the gym,” she says. “It doesn’t have to be an hour, two hours — twenty minutes every day.”
