My name is Carlie Bartholomew and I have been cheering competitively for 10 years. I currently compete with Cheer Force Arkansas's All star program on a Level 6 team called Falcons. I also compete with my high school's Varsity cheer Team. For my upcoming senior year, I am now Captain of our varsity team. I have learned many positive leadership skills through this experience. I grew up flying on all-girl groups and co-ed. However, 3 years ago I was moved to being a base on my All-Star and Varsity team where I competed both main and side basing positions. I now understand every part of the stunt and have knowledge in basing and flying skills; which has allowed me to help other flyers and bases on the team. Through this I understand the mental difficulties each position faces. In school I am in all honors and AP classes. With my busy schedule I have learned to balance school and cheer very well while keeping my grades up and giving all my energy to my team every practice. I always try to come into practice early with my stunt group or by myself to tumble.
Before I began cheer I tumbled for years and did gymnastics. I grew up loving to tumble and always wanted to be in the gym working. When I was little my goal was to get a full, but now I have far surpassed my little selfs goal and continue to set new goals each year for myself. Cheer has got me through everything and I have made life-long relationships through this sport. Cheer is something I am very passionate about and will always try my best at. I never thought I would come this far and I am not ready for my cheer career to end which is why I would love to cheer at the collegiant level. When I think of college I imagine attending a school more towards the south, so I am closer to home. I am open to any size college, but I would prefer a medium to large size college. I am looking for a college with high standards because I want to be pushed academically and athletically. My goals for the next few years is to make a positive impact around me while being known as a hard worker who encourages everyone.
