My name is Shaine Price, and I am a student at The Villages Charter School. From a young age, I have always wanted to cheer in college. At the age of three, I began participating in a cheerleading club known as "Spirit Girls," where I dedicated eight years of my life. I expressed my desire to cheer competitively to my mom, leading her to enroll me in a travel team called "The Belleview Rattlers." During my time with this team, I engaged in both sideline cheer and competitive cheerleading.
My first year with the Belleview Rattlers, our team achieved remarkable success, securing first place at our local competition in Wildwood, Florida, and placing second at the Regionals competition in Orlando, Florida, where we “hit 0” . We got fourth place at Nationals in Orlando, Florida. In my second year, we achieved second place at our local competition in Wildwood and fifth place at Regionals in Orlando, Florida.
A notable highlight of my cheerleading journey was receiving a private invitation from one of the coaches at the Belleview Rattlers to compete at the Globals competition in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where we finished in fourth place, barely missing third by just 0.7 points. As I approached my freshman year of high school, I tried out for the cheer team and successfully earned a spot on both the Junior Varsity sideline team and the Competitive Cheer team, where we fell short at the state level by 0.1 points.
During my sophomore year I tried out do the VHS cheer team again and made the Varsity team I am not in my junior year where I am on the VHS varsity team for year 2 and I can not wait to see what this year holds for me and I am hoping to get many new skills!!
