Hello, I'm Kate Stetter, this will be my 5th year cheering. I grew up my whole life doing competitive gymnastics since the day I could walk. My dream was to go to the Olympics for gymnastics, but dreams always change once we get older and times get more difficult. I tried sideline football cheer in 8th grade while still doing gymnastics and I really loved it. It was way more laid back than gymnastics and I just felt myself. So once COVID19 hit I ended my gymnastics career and switched over to cheerleading. Freshman year of Highschool started and I only did the competition and sideline cheer for the school. I really enjoyed it and that's when I found the love for a sport I never even saw myself doing. Sophomore year started and I tried out for an all-star team where all my friends go. My dream was to make a worlds team, so I made sure I was in the gym everyday trying to get my double and my handspring full, and all those hours in the gym defiantly paid off. It comes time to team reveal day, I open my envelope and it says "Congratulations Kate you made level 6 senior small coed (SMACK)" My first year doing all-star cheer and I made my dream into a reality. We won numerus comps. We even placed 2nd at the cheerleading worlds. Junior year comes around and im doing all-star cheer, sideline cheer, comp. cheer for the highschool, and also gameday. I was a very busy highschooler and doing all that I had to make sure to keep on top of my grades as well. It was rough but I managed to get through. First semester was good I stayed on top of my grades and ended with all A's and B's. Second semester started off good, then all-star season came around I was doing two teams a level 6 team and a level 4 team. So I was always in the gym and my grades started to drop, but once I realized I got on top of it and ended the school year with good grades. Senior year is approaching and this year I want to be a team leader on all my teams, help my teammates out when they are struggling, also be a good leader in the classroom, while doing all that just be a good student athlete in general. My goal at the end of highschool is to get a scholarship for cheer and to continue my cheerleading career, while also achieving my academic goals.
