I remember the first time I picked up an Xbox 360 controller. I remember being sucked into the game so much my parents had to physically pull me out. I loved the feeling of competitiveness like it was a real sport. I remember 1v1ing my friends on Modern Warfare 3, Rust and it is so fun and competitive. This is when I noticed how my sports background helped me get better at video games. In real life, I like to think things through and use my intelligence to outsmart my opponents. This is the main reason why I want to become an Esports player. I'm naturally drawn to and love video games. They changed my life. They gave me an escape. Also considering how new this industry is I want to be apart of the beginning.I’ve read countless articles and watched countless videos about the future of Esports. After this, I know that Esports will become just as popular if not way more popular than our original sports like the NFL and NBA. Lastly, I want to prove to myself I can make it somewhere doing what I love. Video games have changed my life and I want to be involved in the video game industry for the rest of my life.
I would be a great candidate for your program because I am coachable, a leader, and know how to work with a team. I learned all of these things from the years of competitive basketball that I have played. During these years I trained early in the morning and late at night. I put countless hours working on my craft to perfect it. Now, this is what I’m doing with video games. My high school basketball team and I became state champion runner ups last year. Against all odds, a young skinny short asain kid made an elite level varsity team with D1 players on it. I played in the point guard position where you need to lead and communicate with your team. Some say the point guard is the second coach on the court. I look to use my experience as a point guard in any esports organization I am apart of.
My love for video games has provided me a unique opportunity, and I’m willing to put in the hard work needed to achieve it. My coachability, leadership experience, and the ability to work as a team are what makes me stand out.
