I am Maria McGloin, and I’m a senior at St.Thomas More Academy. I play Midfield, Attack and Defense. I have played field hockey since 2005 and travel field hockey since 2008. I have attended World Camp USA 2010-2014, Mid Atlantic Field Hockey Showcase 2012, Tufts University Invitational 2014, Revolution Field Hockey Connecticut 2014, and CAPLES Edge Field Hockey Boston 2014. I have coached 3 seasons of Middle School Indoor Field Hockey, and instructed Middle School developmental field hockey
I am ranked #3 in my class with a 3.97 GPA. I am taking all Honors and AP courses. I have served on the Delaware Community Foundation for the past two years. We assisted in obtaining federal grants for the Home of the Brave Military Veterans home and the Peoples Place Homeless shelter. I am a member of the National Honor Society and Varsity Field Hockey Captain for two seasons. In addition, I’m a Varsity basketball and Varsity Lacrosse player for my school. For the past three summers, I have aided communities through a Catholic outreach in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
I have worked for the past four summers as a Cashier in a food service delicatessen in between Field hockey and Community service. I have learned how to work with varying personalities, in both the outreach and summer job.
I plan to attend a school with Occupational Therapy or Nursing degree programs.
I love the game. I will play where I am needed most to benefit the Team. I am a very competitive Student and Athlete. Determination and Hard work define Me.
