Hi! My name is Montana Cavill-Fowler and I'm in Year 11 at Whitby Collegiate in Wellington, New Zealand. I've been playing field hockey since I was six and love the sport.
I'm a versatile defender, comfortable playing as a halfback, fullback, or even midfield. I'm the first-choice injector for penalty corners and can be a hitting or trapping option. I've been playing in the Wellington Women's senior competition since I was 12 and consistently play at a high level for my age group. At school, I've been part of the first team for the past three years and we've even finished second in the high school Premier 2 competition losing only 2 matches in 2023.
I'm academically strong and interested in pursuing Criminology or pre-law, marketing, and sports management college. When looking for a college programme I am looking for
(a), to find a place with a highly supportive coaching staff and to develop me and my game
(b) a strong academic programme in my chosen field(s) and
(c) I can grow and develop a life experience. I'd also love to be part of a close-knit and inclusive team that pushes everyone to be their best.
I'm interested in learning more about programmes in D1/D2 and D3 teams.
Other sports I am involved in are Softball (Pitcher, Shortstop and Base 3), Touch Rugby, Netball (all positions) and also Rowing for Scots College Wellington.
Thank you for considering my application!
