Personal Statement
Samuel Beckett once said, "Try again, fail again. Fail better." I like this quote because it reminds me that everyone fails in life, but how you respond to that failure is what makes you. It's not about how many times you get knocked down, it is about how many times you get back up and keep going after your dreams. It takes hard work and dedication to achieve your goals in life. You have to learn from your failures and keep trying and never give up.
My name is Alexis Winebrenner and I am in the graduating class of 2017, at Assumption High School in Louisville, Kentucky. At Assumption, I play lacrosse and field hockey. I earned my varsity letter in basketball as a sophomore. Sports have always been a big part of my life and have taught me many life lessons. I started playing field hockey for fun in the sixth grade and immediately fell in love with it. Over the past two field hockey seasons, I have improved on my speed, quickness, and field vision. Through my hard work and dedication, I would like to achieve a key position on a collegiate field hockey team.
My professional goal is to be in the medical and health services field. I wish to continue to be the leader that I have been both on and off the field in what I choose to do. I have always had a competitive drive and good work ethic that has never wavered. My overall goal in life is to enjoy what I do and be the best that I can be.
