Amber Rose '19 Recruiting Profile

Attending North Yarmouth Academy, a college preparatory school, is one of the best life choices I have made. At first, I was disappointed with the level of play at the high school level because I didn’t feel challenged my freshman year. My team consisted of 12 players. My initial instinct was to leave the school to find better field hockey. I later realized I made the right decision to stay. I decided to challenge myself in and out of practice to become the best leader for my team. Looking back on my freshman year, I realized I made the mistake of being the shy person that I have always been. This past summer I have focused on stepping out of my comfort zone by learning how to demand the best out of each individual on my team. After gaining respect from my teammates and coach, my hard work and dedication to the sport I love has made me captain as a sophomore.
