Personal Statement
Field hockey is something that I started to play in first grade, and absolutely loved it since then. When I started playing in my little town of sykesville the sport wasn't very popular, not many people knew about it, the closest place to get put on a team was in westminister. Beginning at a program called central carroll, I then moved to freedom rec program in 2nd grade when the team was made closer to my home. The coaches had taught me to be hard working, a leader and to maintain self confidence. I have used all of these beneficial lessons everyday. I play for century high school which has continued to teach me to always be encouraging and always put in the effort that I need to succeed. I need to be the best I can be while also continuing to work on my strengths and weaknesses.
I started out as playing defense, because that's where I played for freedom rec program. I have now been moved to the front line where I can show off my hard and quick shots on the goal. Playing defense made me realize what moves were hard to defend from the offense and also helped me to realize how much we need the offense to help out on defense.
I have worked with 4 coaches throughout my field hockey experience. The one thing they all told me was to always be a coachable player, because coaches love that. Which I love taking the feedback given to me by coaches and then using what they said to work on in the next play.
When I am not playing field hockey I love to spend my time hanging out with family and friends. I love to draw, learn new things, travel, and exercise. I am academically efficient I like achieving my goals, and I understand why education is important in life.
In college I would like to continue on my career path of becoming a doctor while meeting new people and traveling at the same time. lastly, giving it my everything while I am on or off the field.
Excited for the future,
