Personal Statement
Hello my name is Bethany Hartman and I'm currently a junior playing field hockey. I play at Holly Grove Christian School, was a captain of the team junior year and All ConferenceESAIC Player of 2020. While playing in school I also am apart of a travel team, Shorebyrds. I started playing indoor with them my sophomore year and currently playing with them on U19.
Field hockey became a part of my life in the sixth grade. I played all throughout middle school and started on the varsity team freshmen year. I offer speed, commitment, leadership, and the mentality of outworking others to the team. My mindset is what really sets me a part from my school team, the ability to keep working and improving on myself. When practicing or playing with my travel team I get the opportunity to surround myself with girls of the same mindset. They make me work harder and push myself to do better. I'm not only found on the field hockey field, but also on the basketball court and track. I started playing basketball and track in middle school, which grew my love for sports even more. From basketball, I learned how to keep pushing even when it got tough and learned how to keep my head held up high. Track made me enjoy running long distance and create the mindset of outworking the other athletes.
My work isn't just shown on the field but also in the classroom. I'm an A average student and keep my grades on the higher spectrum. I put in the work for school and keep my standards held high for myself in each class. Currently I am taking AP Lit and Honors Algebra 2 as my honors/ AP classes. I also plan to take the SAT in the spring.
