Hi my name is Lily Tobin. To me, field hockey has had the biggest impact on my life socially and mentally. I have grown extraordinary friendships with my teammates and coaches. I have also mentally seen my growth as a player on the field and off, as I always have input as to how we could improve as a team. I would love to carry this passion with me as long as I can, especially through college. I am a very coachable and universal player, I am always eager to learn more ways I can improve as a player, as well as helping my teammates by giving them constructive criticism, so we can all grow as a unite together. I started off as a forward, moved down to mid field my previous fall high school season, and I’ve started to play far back in my current club season. Anywhere a coach needs me I am able to fill-in. I think that’s what makes me such a unique player. I have been a starter on my high school feel hockey team since the 8th grade, and have also started on my club team this past spring. This past fall high school season, I made the Cape and Island’s All Star Team, which was such an accomplishment of mine, seeing all the hard work that had payed off all season long. Along with field hockey, I also play ice hockey. I’ve been on the varsity ice hockey high school team since 8th grade, and by playing hockey, has helped me see the field so much better. I have such a good vision on and off the field, which is why many people say I can see the field so well. I have such a strong worth ethic, and inspire to be the best that I can be on the field in the classroom. I am willing to make sacrifices to push myself as hard as I can, to be the best that I can be.
