Katelyn Katinas '18 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing field hockey since sophomore year in HS.  I enjoy it and aspire to play at the collegiate level.  I play Travel Soccer for the CW3 Jaguars and the Jags Showcase HS team, and played both HS JV Soccer and Basketball.

I have good stick skills and can play both Forward and Defense.  I worked my way into the starting lineup on the Novi HS team throughout the season. My soccer background also gives me strong vision and anticipation on the field.  I enjoy the competitive nature of field hockey, and the team atmosphere. I am looking to contribute even more Fall '17 as a senior leader on the HS team.

From 2011-2014 I lived in Chongqing, China and attended YCIS. http://www.ycis-cq.com/en/ .   Here I learned to read, write, and speak Mandarin Chinese, and played on the school Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer teams.  This was a very enriching experience which has given me an appreciation for international experiences.

In school, I take challenging classes and work to maintain my GPA. I am currently a member of our student LINK society (helps with student orientations, local school events), and the Novi HOSA chapter for students with interest in health care fields.

I want to attend a college where I can pursue academic and athletic interests and become successful for my future. I am undecided in a major at the moment, considering Hospitality Mgmt, International studies, with a Minor in Chinese Language. I've even considered a Major in Chinese as an alternative also. I would like to also study abroad.
