Personal Statement
Sports in general are very meaningful to me, but making a travel field hockey team was one of my most important achievements. This past Spring I practiced one on one with my high school field hockey coach every day after track practice to prepare for this accomplishment. Field hockey excites me and keeps me motivated throughout the year. It inspires my commitment to school and to keep my grades up. Making this team has and will open many doors for me because during this experience, I have met new coaches and played with different teammates. Learning to work with new people has shown me that change is good and should be accepted with open arms. Another achievement that I fulfilled was qualifying for the New York State Section Nine Alpine Skiing team in 2009-2010. During this season, I put in a lot more time than I had in the previous ones. I feel that I fulfilled this accomplishment because I put in an abundance of hours of practice every week and especially on the weekends. Even during these accomplishments, I maintained a ninety-two average every quarter, (junior year) and was inducted into the Nation Honor Society. All of these accomplishments are meaningful to me because I put a lot of hard work, effort and heart into them. I also dedicated a lot of my time into these activities. I always put effort and heart into everything I do.
This past season, I was chosen to be one of the captains on my field hockey team. As team captain, I was a great role model for my fellow teammates, a motivator and a leader. I was also chosen Team MVP, for the second year in a row, because of these characteristics I brought to every practice and game. I would like to stay in the Northeast region of the country for college. I'm looking for a medium size school that competes at any level of play (field hockey). My family will need financial aid. The major that I intend on studying is Physical Education/Education, but I am not one hundred percent set on that major. I would love to play as a freshman in college and I am willing to work as hard as I can to make any team.
