Coming from a small school, close relationships are inevitable. My field hockey career started at a young age with my coach. I come from a small, close knit community, and she joked with my family that she was determined to make me a Field Hockey player! Starting in 6th grade she gave me the opportunity to be a manager for her varsity team. She gave me the opportunity to work with her and the players and learn from them everyday. I became a part of her team, and from that season on I was hooked!
Growing up a student athlete has helped me become a leader, a hard worker, it has given me confidence and held me accountable. It has helped to show me that with hard work I can achieve my goals. I love that I am part of a team, a “family”, that works together towards the same goal.
I believe that I will forever be a student of the game, and am confident that these experiences and skills will help me throughout my life. My ultimate goal is to continue playing field hockey into my college career. I am planning to work towards becoming an athletic trainer in the future, and help other athletes reach their goals as well.
