Personal Statement
Just to tell you a little bit about myself. Being a three sport athlete since 7th grade, I made the decision to take this year off from basketball and track and really focus on field hockey, bettering my skills, my foot work, my communication and my mind game. I have been playing field hockey since seventh grade. Two seasons of modified and three seasons of Varsity. I started off my first three years as a defensive player and a backup goalie. In 2015 I became the starting goalie for New York Mills jr/sr High School and helped lead my team to the semi-finals. In 2016 I moved to Rome Free Academy and held the position of starting goal keeper. I helped lead my team to finals and ended the season with 11 wins 7 loses and 159 saves over all.
As a student, I am very hardworking and dedicated to my school work. I currently have a 3.3 GPA. I plan on taking the SAT may of 2017. I am also very involved in extracurricular activities. Student government is a big one. I was the secretary for the graduating class of 2018 in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, the secretary of student council during the 2015-2016 year and was elected to be the president for the 2016-2017 year but I had to resign do to moving out of the district. My biggest accomplishment was represented district 8 on the New York State Council on Student and Leadership Activities (student council for all the New York State). I strongly believe that with my leadership skills and my athletic determination I would be a great asset to any college and any field hockey program!
