Personal Statement

Hi! I'm Melanie Watson, a sophomore; class of 2025 defender/midfielder. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, and play for Charlotte Ambush Field Hockey Club. I also play for my school, Ardrey Kell High School. I am a highly determined and hardworking athlete. Each season I play, I am constantly improving and looking for ways to grow and raise my skill level. My coaches describe me as strong, coachable, and motivated. Academics are very important to me. I have interests in Environmental Science and Engineering. Also, playing lacrosse has helped me with my strength and strategic play. I picked up my field hockey stick in seventh grade, and haven’t set it down since! My field hockey season continues year-round, with spring, fall, and indoor seasons. Overall, I really love everything about field hockey, and I am determined to work hard to get to the next level.
