Personal Statement

I hope for college to be a time where I can grow both as a player and a person. Field hockey has been influential in my life and has given me more confidence in everything. On the field, I am always trying to help my teammates succeed; I am a firm believer in "only being as strong as your weakest link". I like to set goals for myself and won't stop until I reach them, whether they be academic or athletic. I am very focused on being a dynamic and versatile goalkeeper, and on being able to translate my athleticism into my play. I take pride in my footwork and speed for those reasons. I love to see improvement and it's the best feeling for me to see when my hard work has paid off, which is why I want to be a part of a field hockey program that challenges me--one where I have to work to succeed. I want to be part of a competitive program where everyone around me is just as determined to achieve their goals.

Playing hockey has allowed me to make lifelong friends and play with people who are now like my family. It's taught me to use my voice and not be afraid of taking risks. I love this sport and all it has given me, which is why I want to continue playing in college. I am very excited to find the school that will help me be the best I can be!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
