Personal Statement
I fell in love with field hockey in first grade. Through field hockey, I learned to advocate for myself, the value of good sportsmanship, and to work hard. I have used these valuable lessons in all areas of my life. I play for Firestyx Hockey Club which has taught me that even if I am not the best player on the team, I play to my strengths, work on my weaknesses and be versatile in order to help my team.
I started playing defense but because of my speed and endurance, I have had the opportunity to play midfield, bottom of the diamond most commonly or center during the indoor season. Playing multiple positions has taught me how to see the field and to cover as players change positions due to game situations.
I have been very lucky to have worked with great coaches from both national and collegiate levels. One of my greatest strengths is my coach-ability. I thrive on feedback to build my game.
Off the field, I spend time with family and friends. I am a strong student and understand the value of a good education.
In college, I am hoping to succeed academically, fight hard on the turf and meet new and different people.
I am extremely excited for the future!
