Courtney Moodie '22 Recruiting Profile

I currently play on the Hershey High School team, which has had tremendous success over the past several years.  In 2018, our team won the Pennsylvania State Championship; I was the only freshman on the postseason state championship team that year.  Additionally, we finished 2nd in the national high school ranks according to MaxFieldHockey. During the 2019 season, I earned a Varsity letter, and our team advanced to the Pennsylvania state semi-finals, that year we came in 18th according to MaxFieldHockey’s nationals rankings. In 2020 my success continued on the varsity team, and we advanced to the district semi-finals. Unfortunately, our season was cut short due to the pandemic so we couldn't participate in the Pennsylvania State Tournament. 

In the offseason, I participate in the USA Field Hockey Futures Program, and have been playing for local clubs for the past 4 years. Currently, I play with the PA United U19 club team from Central Pennsylvania. I am fortunate that both my high school state championship team and club team are coached by Brianna Price, former USA National team member and 2018 High School Coach of the Year.

I have been described by my various coaches as an incredibly coachable athlete and a good teammate. I have both an individual drive to improve and a desire to see my teammates succeed.  My biggest athletic strength is my speed, which is an asset both offensively in my position as a forward, and during defensive corners, when I typically ‘fly.’

I am excited to take my academics and athletics to the collegiate level.
