My goal is to play on a competitive collegiate field hockey team where I will have opportunities to grow as an athlete while getting a quality education. I value hard work and credit my success to self-discipline and my desire to always improve. I have been a part of the varsity team since freshman year, when I competed for a starting spot in the backfield before moving into the starting center mid position as a sophomore. Ever since then I have started in the center mid position working hard to create scoring opportunities and keep the defense organized. I am also part of the overtime 7v7 squad, a stroker, and on both offensive and defensive corners. My strengths in the midfield are my stick skills, field vision, and shot selection. I understand the importance of physical fitness and work hard in the off season to build endurance to be able to play at a high level of intensity. This year as a junior I helped lead our team to a 16-5-1 record, a second place finish in the district championships, and a spot in the state playoffs. In addition to field hockey, throughout my high school career I have participated in the marching band, concert band, varsity basketball team, varsity softball team, taken the highest level classes offered, and in between all that I have a part time job to support any field hockey expenses. I understand the value of hard work and I am excited to play on a team with other student-athletes committed to success. My goals for the next two years are to continue to develop as a athlete and help lead my team to our first district championship in a competitive league since 2004. Academically my schedule is filled with Honors and AP classes that will challenge me and prepare me for a successful college career.
I am also currently unbeaten in chess club.
