Personal Statement

My name is Courtney Ann Konowal. To describe myself, I am five feet, five inches tall and I weight roughly 110 pounds. I am currently a junior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. My important accomplishments include, playing varsity high-school field hockey for three years, playing in the Disney college showcase at the ESPN center, attending the U19 NIT, and being named 2nd team All-Area. In my freshman year, I scored 4 goals, but as a sophomore I scored 17 goals, and I gave 7 assists. I also placed eighth in scoring in the Suburban One League with 41 points. In addition, I was named 3rd team All-Conference. In my junior year, I was named 3rd team All-Conference and 2nd team All-Area. I scored 6 goals and I gave 14 assists. Besides playing field hockey, I played travel soccer for several years, I played basketball, and right now I play travel softball. Currently, I will be playing varsity high-school softball for a second year.

I feel I will be an essential asset to a team. I offer a team with hard work, responsibility, and the desire to win. I can definitely offer hard work to a team because I hustle in every game and I bring energy and effort to every play. I never give up and I always have the ability to make adjustments. As well, I offer responsibility and focus to a team because I can balance my school work, sports, family, and friends. Getting good grades are very important to me as well as exceeding at the highest level of competition; therefore, I think being trustworthy and dependable is a key attribute to a team. Finally, I can offer a team the desire and heart to win because of my push and determination to win every single game. In addition, I love playing field hockey because I love the excitement of scoring a goal and most importantly I love the excitement of winning a game with a team. My heart, focus, and dedication have always driven me to my goal of playing field hockey at a collegiate level.

Speaking of college, I am currently interested in studying marketing and advertising. Right now, I want to attend a college near the east coast because I want to be close to home and I feel the east coast provides the highest skill level of field hockey. However, I am open to different types of schools. Overall, my main goal is to play field hockey at a collegiate level and to improve and expand my skills in practice and in games.
