Personal Statement

My name is Rachel Marie Konowal. To describe myself, I am five feet, five inches tall and I weigh roughly 110 pounds. I am a junior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. My achievements include, I played varsity high-school field hockey, basketball, and softball as a freshman and as a sophomore. Recently, I have played in the Disney college showcase at the ESPN center and I have played in the U19 NIT tournament in Virginia Beach. I was also named 2nd team All-Conference. As a sophomore I led my team in scoring and placed fourth in scoring in the Suburban One Conference. As a sophomore, I scored 18 goals and gave 10 assists for a total of 46 points. Besides playing field hockey, I play varsity high school basketball and softball. As a freshman I was named 1st team All-Conference Outfielder for softball.

I can offer a team responsibility, hard work ethic, and the desire to win. I feel I am an important asset to any team. I can offer a team responsibility because I can balance school work and sports. Getting good grades are important to me as well as surpassing to the highest level of competition. I can also offer a team a hard work ethic because I am always extremely dedicated to a team and I always hustle in every play. As well, I believe it is important to hustle and do your best no matter what game. Finally, I can offer a team the desire and spirit to win. No matter, what I'm doing I am always looking to find a way to win whether it’s at practice or in a game. Winning establishes confidence in me and t. Even though no one wants to lose, I can learn and prepare for any games ahead. Overall, I can offer a team responsibility, hard work ethic, and the desire to win. I stride to do my absolute best every single day at practice or in a game so I can achieve my goal in playing field hockey at a collegiate level.

Academically, I am currently interested in studying about sports medicine. I want to go to school somewhere along the east coast. I want to attend a school in the east coast because I want to stay close to my home and I feel that the east coast has the highest skill level of field hockey. However, I am always open to any schools. In the end, my goal is to play at the collegiate level of field hockey and to improve and expand field hockey skills.
