This year as a sophomore, has been one of this most memorable years of my life. We won the Pennsylvania AA state championship. I never thought when I first started to play around the age of 6, doing little camps and clinics would get me to where I am today. Yet with success there was always set backs. I think the hardest thing I had to go through so far was when I got subbed in the semi state finals. My sub scored 2 goals and there was no way I was going to go back in. I was really defeated but that made me work a hundred times harder. Before you knew it the next game my sub started, but she did not play how she did the last game so I was put back in. This experience helped me grow by showing me that my spot on the team can be taken away, so there is no room for mistakes or to become complacent.
I am fortunate enough to be apart of such an amazing field hockey program. They show us the importance of team bonding, along with our skills. I’m looking for a program that suits my athletic career along with my academic career. I believe I have what it takes to play for the next level. I have the skills to play, good work ethic and good communication. As I am only a sophomore I know what it takes and I’m ready for the next chapter.
